Healthy Children’s Project

While there are multiple factors—genetics, social environment, and nutrition—that contribute to learning and developmental disabilities, the National Academy of Sciences reports that environmental factors, including toxic chemicals, contribute to about 28% of developmental and neurological defects. The Learning Disabilities Association is dedicated to reducing the effects of environmental toxins on brain development, especially in children.
