Legislative Update:
Sentate Bill 150
We have received several phone calls from parents who were concerned after watching a KSL special on Senate Bill 150 or reading an article in the Salt Lake Tribune. This bill would end "social promotion" of elementary age school children. If they are not proficient at reading or math, they do not move on to the next grade, regardless of how well they are doing in every other area. There are exceptions for children with IEPs or 504s. We encourage all parents to read the senate bill for themselves and to contact their senators.
